With more than 100 offices nationwide and internationally, the company helps clients plan, design, build, test, certify, and operate critical infrastructure projects.Job DescriptionA growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Director of Transmission Line Engineering to lead and expand its transmission practice. This individual will provide technical leadership, oversee project execution, drive business development efforts, and mentor a team of engineers supporting utility and power delivery clients nationwide.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the execution of overhead transmission line projects ranging from 60kV to 765kV.Manage and mentor transmission engineers, designers, and project managers.Oversee project delivery, quality control, budgeting, staffing, and scheduling.Serve as a primary point of contact for utility clients and strategic partners.Support business development activities, proposals, and client relationship management.Provide technical oversight for transmission line routing, structural analysis, foundation design, reconductoring, and grid modernization projects.Establish and maintain engineering standards, QA/QC procedures, and best practices.Collaborate with leadership to support strategic growth initiatives across the power delivery business.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.Professional Engineer (PE) license required.10+ years of transmission line engineering experience.Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and delivering utility projects.Strong background in overhead transmission design and analysis.Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and other transmission design software.Proven success managing client relationships and supporting business development efforts.Preferred ExperienceTransmission system design, uprates, and reconductoring projects.Structure and foundation design.Multi-office team leadership.Utility consulting and program management experience.Experience supporting grid modernization and infrastructure expansion initiatives.What's on OfferCompetitive salary ranging from $150,000 to $200,000 USD annually.Leadership role with significant influence on the growth and direction of the transmission practice.Opportunity to work on large-scale utility infrastructure and transmission expansion projects.High level of visibility with executive leadership and key utility clients.Remote work flexibility with a strong pipeline of transmission and power delivery projects.Travel: Approximately 15-25% for client meetings, project reviews, and team collaboration.Interested?
