Job Description

  • Develop and review electrical designs for medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.
  • Prepare single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, equipment specifications, schematics, and design calculations.
  • Specify and evaluate switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and related electrical equipment.
  • Perform or review load calculations, cable sizing, grounding designs, short-circuit studies, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies.
  • Review designs for reliability, redundancy, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, civil, structural, architectural, and utility teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to clients, contractors, equipment vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Review equipment submittals, respond to RFIs, and resolve electrical design and construction issues.
  • Support site inspections, installation reviews, equipment testing, energization, and commissioning.
  • Contribute to project scope development, schedules, estimates, and engineering deliverables.
  • Maintain quality standards and support the development of junior engineers and designers.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Electrical Engineer - Data Center should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience designing electrical power distribution systems for large data centers, industrial facilities, or comparable complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of medium- and low-voltage systems, equipment selection, grounding, and electrical protection.
  • Familiarity with NEC, applicable IEEE standards, and electrical safety requirements.
  • Experience with electrical analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable design tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering and construction teams.
