Their team is involved in high-voltage substation design projects supporting grid modernization, reliability improvements, renewable integration, and large-scale utility expansion efforts across North America.Job DescriptionDevelop physical substation design packages for utility projects ranging from 12kV through 500kVPrepare and review:General arrangement drawingsEquipment layoutsBus layouts and sectionsElevations and detailsGrounding plansConduit and cable trench layoutsControl building layoutsLightning protection plansCoordinate closely with protection & control, civil/structural, transmission line, and project management teamsPerform equipment spacing and clearance calculations in accordance with utility and industry standardsSupport material selection and equipment specification activitiesEnsure designs comply with:NECNESCIEEEUtility design standardsParticipate in design reviews, QA/QC processes, and client coordination meetingsSupport construction issue resolution and field design updates as neededAssist with project scheduling, budgeting, and engineering documentationMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
