Job Description

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and automated production equipment
  • Investigate recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions
  • Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems
  • Manage electrical infrastructure projects, controls upgrades, and automation improvements
  • Improve PLC backup, documentation, change management, and standardization processes
  • Use downtime and performance data to identify reliability improvement opportunities
  • Support electrical safety initiatives including Arc Flash, NFPA 70E, and LOTO compliance
  • Train and mentor maintenance technicians on troubleshooting and best practices

The Successful Applicant

To be considered, candidates must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of electrical and/or controls engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, instrumentation, and industrial controls
  • Experience working with industrial power systems up to 480V
  • Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation experience, including Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, Arc Flash, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements
  • Proven track record of reducing equipment downtime and leading projects from design through commissioning
  • Ability to work directly on the production floor and partner closely with maintenance and operations teams'



Preferred Experience

  • Food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • SCADA, Historian, OEE, or data-driven manufacturing systems
  • Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, PE, or CMRP certifications
  • Experience supporting plant expansions, turnarounds, or major operational improvement initiatives
