Job Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team including mechanical, electrical, controls, and CAD professionals.
  • Maintain an active technical role by contributing directly to engineering design, project reviews, troubleshooting, and customer support activities.
  • Manage engineering workloads, allocate resources, and oversee project schedules to ensure successful delivery.
  • Review designs, drawings, and documentation to ensure quality, manufacturability, safety, and compliance requirements are achieved.
  • Drive engineering best practices, document control procedures, and technical standards across the department.
  • Partner with project management, manufacturing, fabrication, and field service teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Support proposal development, estimating activities, technical evaluations, and project risk assessments.
  • Act as a key technical contact for customers during design reviews, installations, and commissioning activities.
  • Identify and resolve technical, integration, and scheduling challenges before they impact project delivery.
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and performance management initiatives within the engineering team.
  • Champion continuous improvement programs focused on engineering processes, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support compliance engineering activities and promote a strong safety-focused design culture.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Extensive experience within industrial automation, special-purpose machinery, or manufacturing engineering environments.
  • Previous experience leading teams, projects, or engineering functions.
  • Ability to balance technical execution with managerial responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, controls integration, and automated equipment.
  • Experience conducting engineering risk assessments and supporting compliance-related activities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and technical judgment capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams.
  • Organized, process-driven approach with strong project prioritization skills.
  • Passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering talent.
