Job Description

The Entry Level Project Estimator - Civil Construction - NoVA will:

  • Assist in preparing detailed takeoffs and cost estimates for civil sitework and land development projects.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scope requirements.
  • Support the estimating team in developing competitive project proposals.
  • Utilize estimating software such as PlanSwift and earthwork modeling tools to perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Research material pricing, subcontractor quotes, and labor costs.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and feasibility evaluations.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure estimates align with project execution plans.
  • Help maintain estimate databases and historical project cost information.
  • Participate in a rotational development program that includes exposure to field operations and project management.
  • Learn best practices in bidding strategy, risk evaluation, and cost analysis.

The Successful Applicant

The Entry Level Project Estimator - Civil Construction - NoVA will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Ideal for candidates with 0-2 years of construction experience who are looking to developer their careers.
  • Internship experience within construction is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working with Excel and learning construction software platforms.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude.
  • Desire to grow into a long-term estimating or preconstruction career path.
