The Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, reviewing project plans, and delivering accurate, competitive bids across a range of commercial, multi-family, and historic renovation projects. Project values will typically range from $30M - $100M+

Job Description

  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to understand project scope and requirements
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier bids
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions
  • Prepare and present bid packages and proposals to management
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, historical costs, and project data
  • Assist in project handoff to operations team upon award

The Successful Applicant

  • +/- 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating within a general contracting environment
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and systems
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift, or similar)
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)
