About Our Client

A rapidly growing Southern California General Contractor is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee the field execution of large-scale multifamily and affordable housing developments.

This is an opportunity to join a builder with a strong pipeline of work and take ownership of complex walk-up, podium, and wrap-style multifamily projects ranging from $20M to $60M+ in value.

The ideal candidate is a proven multifamily construction leader who brings extensive experience delivering residential projects from site mobilization through final turnover, with a deep understanding of multifamily building systems, sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination. This individual must have successfully led the full lifecycle of multiple projects valued up to $50M+ and possess a strong background in podium, wrap, and walk-up construction.

Job Description

Our Lead Superintendent will be responsible for:

  • Lead all field operations from project start through completion.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and daily site activities.
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules.
  • Conduct Three-Week Look-Ahead planning.
  • Drive production while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ensure safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage site logistics, sequencing, and trade coordination.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, ownership groups, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Lead field meetings and provide project updates.
  • Identify and resolve field challenges proactively.
  • Maintain project milestones and schedule commitments

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Superintendent will have:

  • Proven experience leading the full lifecycle of multifamily construction projects from site mobilization through turnover.
  • Extensive experience delivering wood-frame podium and walk-up residential projects, ideally in the affordable housing, market-rate multifamily, or mixed-use sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects in the $40M-$100M+ range, with experience overseeing complex scheduling, sequencing, and coordination across multiple trades.
  • Strong expertise in developing, maintaining, and driving master project schedules to ensure milestones, inspections, subcontractor performance, and occupancy targets are achieved.
  • Ability to proactively identify delays, implement recovery plans, and maintain production goals throughout all phases of construction.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative approach when working with ownership groups, architects, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, and field staff while fostering accountability and a positive jobsite culture.
  • Experience managing quality control, safety compliance, budget-conscious field operations, and successful project closeout.
  • Comfortable serving as the primary field leader and decision-maker on a $60M ground-up walk-up multifamily development.

  • Base Salary: $160,000 - $175,000
  • Target Bonus: Approximately 20% of Base Salary
