Job Description

The Healthcare Construction Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading end-to-end delivery of hospital and medical construction projects on-site
  • Developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and execution plans
  • Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and healthcare stakeholders
  • Monitoring project progress, proactively identifying risks, and implementing solutions
  • Overseeing cost control, including reviewing invoices, change orders, and contracts
  • Ensuring full compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and codes
  • Conducting regular quality inspections to meet strict construction benchmarks
  • Providing consistent updates to leadership and key stakeholders
  • Managing risk mitigation strategies for delays, budget issues, and scope changes
  • Collaborating with clinical teams to address patient safety and operational needs

The Successful Applicant

A successful Healthcare Construction Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar field
  • 5-10+ years managing construction projects, ideally in healthcare settings
  • Proven experience with hospital or medical office construction (required)
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, codes, and best practices
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and take full ownership of on-site operations
  • Reliable, proactive, and highly organised with a problem-solving mindset
