About Our Client

We're working with a growing engineering team supporting transmission and power delivery projects across Nevada. This role is focused on overhead line design tied to grid expansion, system upgrades, and renewable energy integration.

Job Description

  • Perform detailed line design using PLS-CADD (or similar tools)
  • Develop profiles, sag & tension calculations, and structure spotting
  • Support route selection and design optimization
  • Coordinate across disciplines to ensure constructability and efficiency
  • Assist with construction support and design adjustments as needed



What you'll be working on:

  • Design of overhead transmission lines (typically 115kV-500kV+)
  • Routing and profile development for new transmission corridors
  • Line rebuilds, reconductoring, and system upgrades
  • Projects supporting renewable energy and increasing load demand
  • Coordination with civil, structural, and substation teams

The Successful Applicant

A successful Line Design Engineer (Contract-to-Hire) should have:

  • 2-5+ years of experience in transmission or overhead line design
  • Experience with PLS-CADD or similar line design software
  • Familiarity with high-voltage systems (115kV+)
  • Strong understanding of line design fundamentals and utility standards
  • EIT preferred (PE is a plus but not required)
