Job Description

  • Holds responsibility for sealing and approving engineering documentation while maintaining high technical and quality standards.
  • Provides leadership for the design, analysis, and implementation of advanced mechanical systems and complex capital projects.
  • Develops system layouts, sequences of operation, and control strategies focused on operational efficiency and long-term energy performance.
  • Defines engineering methodologies, design criteria, and discipline-specific best practices to support consistent project execution.
  • Reviews technical deliverables and provides guidance to ensure the quality and accuracy of work conducted by less experienced team members.
  • Directs the mechanical scope of projects, including management of budgets, schedules, resources, and deliverables.
  • Plans and oversees site assessments, field verification efforts, and 3D laser scanning activities to support project development.
  • Serves as the primary technical liaison with clients, project stakeholders, contractors, and external partners.
  • Exercises substantial autonomy and decision-making authority in executing assigned responsibilities.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and resolves complex engineering, coordination, and project execution issues.
  • Fosters the growth of engineering staff through coaching, mentoring, and technical knowledge sharing.
  • Supports business development and client retention efforts through technical consultation, proposal development, and ongoing client engagement.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering Preferred
  • 7-10+ years of large scale commercial design experience in a similar position within MEP Preferred
  • Experience with REVIT
  • PE - Professional Engineer Licence required
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical system design and applications in large commerical applications
  • Strong leadership experuence, project management, and ability to lead/coordinate cross-functional teams
