Job Description

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for 2,000 employees (union & non-union), ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Oversee payroll reporting and the creation of exempt & non-exempt payroll reports.
  • Maintain and update payroll systems to reflect employee changes, tax updates, and other necessary information.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources and Finance teams to address employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and improve payroll processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee payroll records and sensitive information.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Payroll Specialist should have:

  • Prior experience in processing payroll for an hourly & salaried population of 1,500+ employees.
  • Prior experience in Paycom highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in generating payroll reports.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll systems and federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for reviewing payroll data.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
