We are seeking a Power Delivery Designer to support the design and execution of high-voltage transmission and substation projects. This individual will work closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to develop detailed design packages for utility and EPC clients. We specialize in EPC and consulting services for projects ranging from 12kV distribution systems to 500kV transmission infrastructure.

Job Description

  • Develop detailed design drawings and construction packages for transmission and substation projects
  • Prepare physical layouts, electrical plans, sections, elevations, grounding plans, and conduit/raceway designs
  • Support transmission line and substation projects from conceptual design through IFC packages
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure design accuracy and schedule adherence
  • Utilize AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or similar design software for drafting and modeling
  • Assist with equipment layouts including transformers, breakers, relay panels, bus arrangements, and control buildings
  • Interpret engineering markups, specifications, and utility standards
  • Support projects involving voltages from 12kV to 500kV
  • Ensure designs comply with NEC, NESC, utility, and client standards
  • Participate in field/site visits as needed to support design validation and construction activities

The Successful Applicant

  • A successful Power Delivery Designer should have:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in power delivery, substation, or transmission design
  • Experience supporting utility, EPC, or consulting environments
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar drafting software
  • Knowledge of transmission line and substation design principles
  • Understanding of utility construction practices and electrical layouts
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
