This is a senior leadership role responsible for advancing large-scale power infrastructure projects across transmission, distribution, substations, protection and controls, interconnection, utility infrastructure, and related power delivery systems. As the Director, you will lead a dynamic team of Associate Directors, Project Managers, engineers, designers, and technical staff, providing both strategic leadership and client-facing expertise.

Job Description

As the Director, you will lead a dynamic team of Associate Directors, Project Managers, engineers, designers, and technical staff, providing both strategic leadership and client-facing expertise. This role will be instrumental in staff development, recruiting, operational execution, client growth, and annual business planning, helping drive sustainable growth and support company revenue goals across the broader Power Delivery market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee Power Delivery efforts across transmission, distribution, substations, protection and controls, interconnection, and related electrical infrastructure projects throughout the U.S.
  • Provide strategic technical leadership and direction for engineering, design, project management, and project execution efforts within the Power & Energy team
  • Manage and mentor a team of Associate Directors, Project Managers, engineers, designers, and technical staff, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing environment
  • Act as a senior client liaison, building and maintaining strong client relationships while supporting project delivery from early planning and development through detailed design and execution
  • Develop, retain, and recruit top talent in engineering, project management, and technical leadership to support long-term team growth
  • Drive annual business planning in collaboration with executive leadership, including revenue forecasting, staffing strategy, resource planning, and market growth initiatives
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure strong project performance and successful client outcomes
  • Support the continued evolution of internal processes, delivery standards, quality practices, and team structure to improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability across Power Delivery projects
  • Provide oversight and coordination across internal teams, utility clients, developers, contractors, and external project stakeholders
  • Help establish and maintain technical standards, QA/QC expectations, and project delivery best practices across the Power Delivery group
  • Support a culture of technical excellence, mentorship, accountability, and proactive communication across the team

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; PE license highly preferred
  • Minimum of 12+ years of professional experience in Power & Energy, electric utility, consulting, or related power infrastructure work
  • Strong experience supporting power delivery projects, including one or more of the following areas: transmission, distribution, substations, protection and controls, interconnection, power system studies, or broader utility infrastructure
  • Proven track record in client-facing leadership roles, with strong project management, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and mentoring multidisciplinary teams, with a passion for talent development and organizational growth
  • Strong strategic planning and business leadership skills, including experience with annual planning, team development, staffing strategy, and revenue growth initiatives
  • Technical understanding of engineering and design workflows relevant to power delivery, utility infrastructure, and high-voltage electrical projects
  • Experience partnering with utility clients, renewable energy developers, independent power producers, or large-scale infrastructure clients preferred
  • Ability to oversee project performance, manage competing priorities, and support teams across multiple active projects
