This position offers the opportunity to work remote with travel as needed; manage the execution of multiple transmission, substation, and distribution projects - spanning both brownfield (existing site upgrades) and greenfield (new site development) environments across power levels ranging from 69 kV up to 500+ kV. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless life‑cycle management of capital project execution.

Job Description

The primary duties of a Power Delivery Project Manager include planning, developing, executing, and closing out all aspects of Power Delivery projects of all sizes and complexity, including scope and/or proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, and quality control, schedule, and budget management. Projects may involve substations, system protection/planning, transmission lines, distribution lines, and associated strategic services, including routing/siting, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, and construction management.Specific duties include:

  • Understanding and application of basic project management tools and techniques including the following: project life cycle, client goals and objectives, contract terms and project risk, work breakdown structures, project scope/schedule/budget, project initiation, project planning, financial management and controls, including earned value, internal/external communication, team management, change management, and project closeout.
  • Independently coordinates the work of engineers and the balance of the team throughout an entire project life cycle.
  • May also be responsible for overseeing non-engineering components of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, construction management, and other services.
  • Leads the QA/QC process on projects and is committed to delivering world class quality.
  • Works independently and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more transmission APM's, Project Engineers and/or junior design staff.
  • Performs client management, project management and/or technical support activities.

The Successful Applicant

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or Engineer In Training (EIT) and active commitment to obtain P.E.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to obtain.



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
