This is an onsite position.Job DescriptionIdentify, collect, analyze, abstract, organize and maintain facts and documents, including wills and trust documents, in accordance with compliant legal practice and procedureIdentify, collect, analyze, abstract, organize, maintain financial statements and spreadsheets relating to client investments; extract information for preparation of tax returns as neededDevelop and maintain relationships with clients and personnelObtain and clarify information necessary to substantiate facts, identify documents and support legal actionsReview estate planning documents, wills and trust agreements for preparation of income tax and excise tax returnsAssist gathering asset and debt information for trusts and estatesOrganize and maintain information, records and documents supporting legal actionsAssist analyzing legal proceedings to identify possible issuesDevelop, implement, maintain tracking and accounting systems for client investments facilitating preparation of U.S. trust tax returnsPrepare U.S. federal and state estate tax returns (Form 706 and state equivalent as needed)Prepare U.S. federal and state fiduciary income tax returns for estates, testamentary and inter vivos trusts (Form 1041 and state equivalent as needed)Prepare individual and non-profit organization U.S. tax returns (Form 1040, Form 709 and Form 5227)Prepare trust and estate probate and fiduciary accountingsPrepare related filings such as extensions of time to file for all accounting and returnsAddress IRS notices and resolve pending tax issuesTrack deadlines assuring returns and accountings are filed timely or extended when applicableMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
