Job Description

  • Lead and coordinate daily manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and workflow execution in collaboration with commercial teams.
  • Assign and oversee production runs, ensuring all documentation, specifications, drawings, and instructions are complete and clearly understood before work begins.
  • Support tooling design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment performance.
  • Monitor jobs in process, proactively resolving technical, quality, scheduling, or personnel issues to meet delivery commitments.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality standards by reviewing order requirements, inspection data, and technical specifications, and conducting root cause analysis on defects or failures.
  • Enforce compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Play a hands-on role in hiring, training, developing, and evaluating production staff, including conducting performance reviews and coaching for improvement.
  • Train team members on equipment operation, material preparation and handling, test equipment usage, and safe work practices.
  • Drive operational efficiency by reducing costs related to labor, materials, rework, downtime, and utilities.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment, stepping in to operate equipment or processes as needed to support production demands.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experienced manufacturing leader with a hands-on management style and a strong presence on the production floor
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline such as mechanical engineering, materials science, or a related field
  • Extensive background (8+ years) in manufacturing operations, production management, or engineering leadership roles
  • Strong technical aptitude, including experience with tooling design, CAD software, and machining or fabrication methods
  • Comfortable operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex production equipment; mechanically inclined
  • Familiarity with vacuum-based processes, thin‑film, or other precision coating technologies is a plus
  • Proven ability to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Quality-focused mindset with experience reviewing technical specifications, inspection data, and resolving process issues through root cause analysis
  • Effective people manager with experience hiring, training, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations
  • Organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines
  • Collaborative, positive, and safety-conscious leader who works well across teams
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. under applicable regulatory requirements for controlled manufacturing environments
