Job Description

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary project development team responsible for conceptual engineering, technical scope definition, and preconstruction deliverables.
  • Plan team workload, establish priorities, and ensure timely completion of project development activities supporting proposals and project execution.
  • Oversee the development and review of conceptual designs, bills of material, specifications, equipment selections, data sheets, and other technical deliverables used for estimating and procurement.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are technically accurate, constructible, consistent with company standards, and suitable for estimating and project execution.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Estimating, Procurement, Engineering, and Project Management to develop complete project definitions and resolve technical questions during the pursuit phase.
  • Identify technical assumptions, scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and design uncertainties that could impact project cost, schedule, or execution.
  • Promote the consistent use of engineering standards, templates, digital tools, and established project development workflows.
  • Mentor engineers and designers while supporting technical development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Capture lessons learned and incorporate improvements into technical infrastructure platforms and engineering standards.
  • Support strategic initiatives that improve project development processes, engineering efficiency, and proposal quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including conceptual design, project development, estimating support, FEL/FEED, EPC proposals, or project execution.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams or coordinating technical deliverables across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design, constructability, estimating, procurement, and project execution principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and workload management skills.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting electrical infrastructure, substations, industrial facilities, utility, renewable energy, or EPC projects.
  • Experience with conceptual engineering, project definition, proposal engineering, or front-end project development.
  • Experience reviewing engineering deliverables for constructability, completeness, and estimate readiness.
  • Familiarity with engineering document management, CAD, PLM, or digital engineering workflows.
