About Our Client

We are seeking a licensed and motivated Project Engineer (PE) to support the execution of complex substation engineering projects. This role focuses on providing technical expertise, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high-quality design and engineering deliverables while supporting safe, efficient project outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering knowledge with collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Job Description

  • Lead the execution of substation design projects from concept through construction and commissioning phases.
  • Develop and review engineering deliverables, including calculations, layouts, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in protection & control, relay settings, and physical substation design.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to align scope, schedule, and technical requirements.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews on drawings and design packages to ensure accuracy and constructability.
  • Support field activities such as testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and company design practices.
  • Contribute to project planning, budgeting support, and risk identification.
  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture across all engineering and field activities.
  • Utilize engineering tools and Microsoft Office applications to support documentation and communication.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and best practice development.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager III - Substation should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Demonstrated experience in substation engineering and design.
  • Strong knowledge of protection & control systems and substation layouts.
  • Ability to manage complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
