This role focuses on providing technical expertise, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high-quality design and engineering deliverables while supporting safe, efficient project outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering knowledge with collaboration and problem-solving skills.Job DescriptionLead the execution of substation design projects from concept through construction and commissioning phases.Develop and review engineering deliverables, including calculations, layouts, schematics, and technical specifications.Provide subject matter expertise in protection & control, relay settings, and physical substation design.Coordinate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to align scope, schedule, and technical requirements.Perform quality assurance reviews on drawings and design packages to ensure accuracy and constructability.Support field activities such as testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting when needed.Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff.Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and company design practices.Contribute to project planning, budgeting support, and risk identification.Promote and uphold a strong safety culture across all engineering and field activities.Utilize engineering tools and Microsoft Office applications to support documentation and communication.Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and best practice development.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
