About Our Client

A well-established Southern California general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer (2-6 years of experience) to support the execution of a landmark project in Santa Monica. This is an opportunity to join a team specializing in complex public, institutional, healthcare, educational, and technically challenging construction projects throughout the region.

The Project Engineer will work directly alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents, gaining exposure to all phases of construction while playing a key role in keeping projects organized, coordinated, and moving forward.

Job Description

Our Project Engineer will:

  • Manage RFIs, submittals, drawing updates, permits, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, consultants, inspectors, and subcontractors.
  • Track procurement activities and long-lead material deliveries.
  • Assist in maintaining project schedules and milestone reporting.
  • Attend project meetings and distribute meeting minutes and action items.
  • Support change order management and project cost tracking.
  • Coordinate inspections, punch list activities, and closeout documentation.
  • Work closely with field teams to ensure seamless communication between office and jobsite operations.
  • Help monitor project quality, safety, and contract compliance requirements.

The Successful Applicant

An ideal Project Engineer will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • 2-6 years of experience with a General Contractor.
  • Experience on public works, higher education, healthcare, civic, institutional, or commercial construction projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and construction administration processes.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
