Company is currently seeking a dedicated Project Manager to coordinate the scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing of technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality. The Project Manager is a pivotal role, interfacing with clients on a regular basis. Birmingham-based role with minimal travel.

About Our Client

Founded over 20 years ago as a small commercial GC, this client has grown in a very well-respected and sought-after company by many reputable clients across Alabama. They now tackle large, complex commercial and multifamily projects across the Birmingham, Auburn, and Montgomery areas, with occasional work further away based on client request.

The company is booked through 2027 and currently focused on securing the right people to help them continue to grow. They have grown at a consistent rate over the past several years, and are looking to add qualified, culturally-aligned Operational managers capable of running larger jobs. The typical project size for this GC is between $30M - $70M in contract value, however they will go smaller and larger than this median.

Job Description

  • Manage all phases of construction projects, including pre-construction, bidding, construction, and project closeout.
  • Oversee projects with contract values upwards of $20M
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, risk registers, and reporting requirements.
  • Facilitate project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and governmental agencies as needed
  • Review and manage contractor schedules, submittals, RFIs, change orders, payment applications, and contract compliance.
  • Monitor project progress, quality control, safety performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes and standards
  • Prepare and present project status reports to clients and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate project inspections, punch lists, commissioning activities, and final project closeout documentation.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction-related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years of experience with a GC
  • Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of construction and scheduling software.
  • The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Excellent project management and supervision skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to grow career as an Operational Leader within Commercial Construction
