Job Description

The Project Manager - Government Projects - Maryland will be responsible for:

Managing all phases of public and government construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure successful project delivery.
Serving as the primary point of contact for owners, government agencies, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
Overseeing contract administration, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and agency-specific regulations, requirements, and reporting standards.
Leading project meetings and providing regular updates on schedule, budget, risks, and project performance.
Coordinating with field teams to ensure quality standards, safety compliance, and project milestones are achieved.
Managing procurement activities, subcontractor relationships, and vendor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Identifying and mitigating project risks while proactively resolving issues that may impact cost, schedule, or quality.
Reviewing and approving project costs, invoices, forecasts, and financial reports to maintain profitability and budget adherence.
Collaborating with estimating and business development teams on project pursuits, proposals, and preconstruction activities.
Ensuring successful project closeout, including final documentation, punch list completion, and client turnover.

The Successful Applicant

The Project Manager - Government Projects - Maryland will have:

5+ years of experience managing commercial, institutional, government, federal, state, or municipal construction projects.
Proven experience overseeing projects from preconstruction through closeout with responsibility for budget, schedule, and client management.
Strong knowledge of government contracting requirements, construction regulations, procurement processes, and contract administration.
Experience managing subcontractors, consultants, and project teams on complex construction projects.
Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and change order management.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with owners, government agencies, design teams, and subcontractors.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve problems, and drive projects to successful completion.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
Experience with federal agencies, public-sector clients, or government-funded projects is strongly preferred.
Understanding of construction safety requirements and commitment to maintaining a safe jobsite environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
