About Our Client

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in transmission and substation construction to oversee high-voltage T&D projects throughout the U.S. This individual will lead project execution from pre-construction through commissioning while managing field operations, contractors, schedules, budgets, and client relationships.

Job Description

  • Manage transmission and substation construction projects ranging from 69kV-500kV
  • Oversee field construction activities, project execution, scheduling, and cost controls
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, field crews, engineering teams, and client representatives
  • Lead construction planning, site logistics, safety initiatives, and project meetings
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
  • Review construction schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Ensure compliance with utility standards, project specifications, and OSHA regulations
  • Support transmission line construction including foundations, structures, conductor installation, and commissioning
  • Support substation construction including foundations, steel erection, transformers, breakers, relay/control buildings, and equipment installation
  • Provide regular project reporting, forecasting, and client updates
  • Support project closeout, punch list, turnover, and energization activities

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager - Substation & Transmission should have:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience supporting T&D construction projects
  • Strong construction management background within transmission and/or substation projects
  • Experience supporting utility, EPC, or power delivery construction projects
  • Knowledge of high-voltage electrical infrastructure construction practices
  • Experience with projects ranging from 69kV-500kV preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the U.S.
