This role is based in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, includes training in the Chicago area, and offers the opportunity to help establish and develop a key territory from the Mt. Prospect, Illinois office.

Job Description

As the Regional Sales Manager, you will:

  • Drive profitable sales growth across a designated territory.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to increase market penetration.
  • Manage and grow existing customer relationships while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with distributors, OEMs, integrators, and end-user customers.
  • Provide technical product consultation on automation, gearbox, motion control, and power transmission solutions.
  • Review customer requirements and develop pricing, quotations, and bid proposals.
  • Identify opportunities to expand product penetration within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and operations teams to deliver customer solutions.
  • Travel approximately 40-50% throughout the assigned region.
  • Maintain sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and CRM updates.
  • Support new product introductions and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry events, customer visits, and trade shows.
  • Deliver accurate territory reporting to the National Sales Manager.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Regional Sales Manager will possess:

  • 7+ years of technical industrial sales experience.
  • Proven success selling automation, motion control, gearbox, mechanical power transmission, electromechanical, or related industrial products.
  • Strong consultative sales and account management skills.
  • Experience developing new business and managing existing customer relationships.
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions to engineering and operational stakeholders.
  • Background working with manufacturers, OEMs, distributors, or industrial end-users.
  • Mechanical Engineering or related technical education preferred.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing pricing, quotations, and sales negotiations.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the territory.
  • Self-motivated approach with a track record of exceeding sales objectives.
  • Stable career progression; candidates demonstrating longevity in previous positions will be highly regarded.
  • Previous gearbox or power transmission experience would be advantageous.
