About Our Client

Our client is a Queens-based general contracting firm specializing in public and private construction projects throughout New York City. Our work includes educational facilities, building renovations, interior fit-outs, infrastructure improvements, and capital construction projects. We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong background managing New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Job Description

  • Manage all phases of construction projects from award through closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SCA representatives, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and procurement plans.
  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and SCA requirements.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities and monitor project performance.
  • Prepare and submit RFIs, change orders, submittals, CPM schedules, requisitions, and project reports.
  • Lead project meetings and provide progress updates to company leadership and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with SCA standards, NYC building codes, permit requirements, and contract specifications.
  • Manage project documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and punch list activities.
  • Work closely with field superintendents to maintain quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Support estimating and preconstruction efforts as needed.

The Successful Applicant

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years managing NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) projects.
  • Strong understanding of SCA policies, procedures, documentation, and project controls.
  • Experience managing projects valued between $1 million and $20+ million.
  • Knowledge of NYC building codes, public works contracts, and construction regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, and construction management software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the NYC metropolitan area.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • SST Supervisor Card.
  • Experience with DOB filings, public agency work, and NYC educational facilities.
  • Familiarity with Sage, Primavera P6, or similar project management software.
