A growing financial institution is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant - Financial Controls to support the development and oversight of its U.S. finance and control framework. This position will play an important role in financial reporting, period-end close activities, internal controls, statutory and regulatory reporting, audit support, and the continued development of treasury operations.

Job Description



  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounting activities.


  • Prepare management reporting, financial statements, schedules, and related financial analyses.


  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records.


  • Assist with external audits, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.


  • Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.


  • Identify financial reporting or control issues and escalate matters as appropriate.


  • Collaborate with Treasury, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and other business functions to enhance reporting, controls, and operational efficiency.


  • Help design, document, and implement finance and treasury processes, procedures, and control frameworks for a developing banking organization.


  • Participate in finance system implementations, reporting enhancements, process improvements, and automation initiatives.


  • Provide finance support for new products, business expansion initiatives, and regulatory readiness activities.


  • Contribute to building scalable finance and treasury functions capable of supporting the organization's continued growth.

The Successful Applicant



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.


  • CPA or comparable professional accounting qualification preferred.


  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, financial controls, or a related finance function.


  • Experience within banking, financial services, or another regulated industry strongly preferred.


  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting principles, reconciliations, and internal control frameworks.


  • Experience preparing financial statements and supporting external or internal audits.


  • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.


  • Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and communicate financial information clearly.


  • Experience developing, improving, or implementing finance processes and controls within a growing or evolving organization is highly desirable.
