About Our Client

I'm partnered with the Director of Accounting at a multi-billion dollar, global, logistics company. They are a global, growing organization with a presence in numerous industries including Industrial, Chemicals, CPG, Tech, Automotive and many more. Their facility located in Wood Dale, IL is a recent acquisition and they're looking to build out a strong US Accounting team starting with this Senior Accountant role.

Job Description

    • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
    • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
    • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
    • Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital project tracking.
    • Support external audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring compliance.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
    • Assist with tax filings, regulatory reporting, and statutory requirements as needed.
    • Participate in system improvements, automation efforts, and process optimization initiatives.
    • Support leadership with ad hoc financial analyses and special projects.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of experience in Accounting
  • Logistics industry experience required
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and Word
  • Strong business communication and analytic skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
