A well-established Mid-Atlantic general contractor is seeking a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join their team in the Columbia/Baltimore market. This individual will lead ground-up and renovation projects ranging from standalone $20M-$25M assignments to multiple concurrent projects, depending on size and complexity.

Job Description

  • Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
  • Manage all aspects of project execution including schedules, budgets, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Oversee projects up to $20M-$25M independently or manage multiple projects simultaneously based on project size and complexity.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between ownership groups, design teams, consultants, and trade partners.
  • Drive project planning, risk management, and problem-solving efforts throughout the lifecycle of each project.
  • Review contracts, manage change orders, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Support preconstruction activities including budgeting, constructability reviews, and value engineering.
  • Mentor and develop Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other team members.
  • Maintain high standards for safety, quality control, and client satisfaction.
  • Build and strengthen client relationships to encourage repeat business opportunities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with a commercial general contractor.
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects in the $20M-$25M range.
  • Experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects when appropriate.
  • Strong preference for candidates with ground-up construction experience.
  • Background in healthcare, education, life sciences, commercial, industrial, or institutional construction preferred.
  • Excellent financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing abilities.
  • Solid understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, project delivery, and risk management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work from the Columbia/Baltimore area and travel to project sites throughout the region.
