They also working on commercial interiors and restaurantsJob DescriptionThe Sr. Superintendent - Historic Renovation - Washington, DC will be responsible forLead on-site construction activities for historic restoration and interior renovation projects throughout the DC.Oversee restoration of distressed and abandoned brick structures being revitalized for new useManage exterior preservation scopes including masonry, historic roofing, waterproofing, façade restoration, and structural stabilizationCoordinate specialty trades such as stone masons, preservation carpenters, plasterers, and metal fabricatorsExecute interior projects including restaurants, hospitality spaces, amenity areas, lobbies, and commercial kitchensInterpret historic documentation, archival drawings, surveys, and condition assessments in collaboration with architects and conservatorsManage selective demolition, shoring, stabilization, and temporary weather protection unique to historic structuresAdminister quality control processes including mock-ups, test panels, and preservation-specific inspectionsMaintain schedules and budgets within complex regulatory and agency-review environmentsSupervise multiple projects simultaneously (typically 2-3), each ranging from $5M-$10M and 6-9 months in durationEnsure safety, protection of historic fabric, and public access on occupied or sensitive sitesMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
