Our client is a rapidly growing engineering consulting firm specializing in high-voltage power delivery infrastructure projects across the utility, renewable energy, and mission-critical/data center sectors. With a strong backlog of transmission and substation projects, they are focused on supporting grid modernization efforts and expanding reliable power infrastructure nationwide.

Job Description

  • Develop engineering and design packages for high-voltage substation projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV
  • Support physical substation design including equipment layouts, grounding plans, conduit and cable routing, elevations, and section views
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documentation
  • Coordinate with protection & controls, civil, structural, and transmission engineering teams
  • Support utility, renewable energy, battery storage, and data center power infrastructure projects
  • Review and apply utility standards, NEC, NESC, IEEE, and client-specific requirements
  • Participate in project meetings, scheduling, technical reviews, and client coordination
  • Assist with substation expansions, greenfield projects, and grid modernization initiatives
  • Provide technical support during construction and project execution phases

The Successful Applicant

A successful Substation Engineer should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of substation engineering or power delivery experience
  • Experience with utility, EPC, consulting engineering, or renewable energy projects
  • Knowledge of physical substation design principles
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or substation design software
  • Understanding of transmission/distribution systems and utility standards
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • EIT or PE license preferred but not required
