This role is ideal for a licensed engineer who wants to move beyond pure execution and into technical leadership and project ownership.Job DescriptionProjects:230kV-500kV transmission line design and upgradesFull lifecycle involvement: routing, design, review, and construction supportLeading PLS-CADD modeling efforts and reviewing junior engineers' workCoordination across substation, civil, and environmental teamsSupporting wildfire mitigation and system reliability initiativesKey ResponsibilitiesLead transmission line design for 115kV-500kV projects (routing, structure spotting, sag/tension, clearances)Perform and review PLS-CADD / PLS-POLE models and calculationsProvide engineering oversight and QA/QC on design packages prior to issuanceStamp and sign design deliverables as the Engineer of Record (as needed)Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers on best practices and technical standardsCoordinate with substation, civil, geotechnical, and environmental teamsSupport project planning, scope development, and schedule adherenceInterface with utility clients (including PG&E) on design reviews and technical discussionsReview survey data, LiDAR, and topographic inputs for accurate modelingSupport construction activities, including RFI responses and field issue resolutionEnsure designs meet NESC, CPUC, and client-specific standardsContribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standardsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
