We are seeking a motivated Transmission Line Engineer II with 3-4 years of experience supporting overhead transmission line projects. This role will assist with the engineering and design of high-voltage transmission systems ranging from 69kV to 765kV, including routing, modeling, structural loading, and construction support activities.

Job Description

  • Support the engineering and design of overhead transmission line projects from conceptual design through construction.
  • Assist with:
    • PLS-CADD modeling
    • Sag and tension calculations
    • Structure spotting and profiling
    • Conductor and shield wire selection
    • Foundation loading calculations
  • Prepare engineering deliverables including:
    • Plan and profile drawings
    • Stringing charts
    • Bill of materials
    • Construction packages
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including civil, geotechnical, environmental, and substation groups.
  • Support design reviews and quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with utility standards, NESC requirements, and project specifications.
  • Participate in client meetings and project coordination calls.
  • Provide limited field and construction support as needed.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Transmission Line Engineer II should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 3-4 years of transmission line engineering experience.
  • Experience with 230kV+ transmission projects.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Exposure to high-voltage transmission projects preferred.
  • Familiarity with:
    • PLS-CADD
    • AutoCAD or MicroStation
    • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of transmission line engineering principles and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
