We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects throughout South Florida (First job is in FT. Myers). This role is responsible for managing daily field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Job Description

  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise all site activities
  • Manage subcontractors and ensure adherence to project schedules
  • Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Monitor construction quality and jobsite safety
  • Conduct weekly toolbox talks and enforce OSHA standards
  • Coordinate inspections with local authorities
  • Maintain project documentation, daily reports, and as-built drawings
  • Track project progress and communicate updates to Project Management
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and site logistics
  • Identify and resolve construction challenges proactively
  • Manage punch list completion and project closeout
  • Build positive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors
  • Support successful project turnover and owner occupancy

The Successful Applicant

A successful Traveling Superintendent should have:

  • Minimum 5 years of construction industry experience
  • Experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project locations
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent leadership, planning, and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
