The Accounting Policy VP will support technical accounting matters across a diverse and complex business. This role will play a key part in interpreting accounting standards, advising on transaction structuring, and ensuring consistent application of policies across the organisation. You will work closely with senior finance leadership and cross-functional teams, serving as a trusted advisor on accounting treatment and financial reporting implications.

Job Description

Technical Accounting & Advisory

  • Research and interpret complex accounting issues across multiple business lines
  • Provide guidance on topics such as revenue recognition, financial instruments, consolidations, and structured transactions
  • Evaluate accounting implications of new and existing transactions



Policy & Standard Implementation

  • Support the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards
  • Develop and enhance accounting policies to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Monitor regulatory and accounting developments, assessing potential impact



Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with teams across Finance, Risk, Treasury, and Front Office
  • Communicate technical conclusions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Advise on the financial reporting impact of key business initiatives



Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare technical accounting memos supporting conclusions and methodologies
  • Contribute to financial statement preparation, including footnotes and disclosures
  • Maintain strong documentation to support audit and regulatory review



Audit & Governance

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on accounting matters
  • Support governance initiatives and maintain strong control standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes

The Successful Applicant

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Proven ability to analyse complex accounting issues and provide practical solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate both independently and in a collaborative environment



Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of relevant accounting or audit experience
  • CPA qualification required
  • Background in financial services strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

What's on Offer

$150,000 - $200,000 base salary.
