The Substation Physical Project Designer supports high‑ and extra‑high‑voltage substation projects by leading physical design efforts, producing and reviewing detailed drawings, coordinating with engineers and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements from concept through construction.
We are seeking a Substation Physical Designer to support the planning, layout, and detailed physical design of electrical substations ranging from distribution through EHV transmission voltage levels. This role is responsible for developing construction-ready design packages including equipment layouts, elevations, grounding, conduit, and structural drawings while coordinating with engineering and project teams.
This role leads substation projects end-to-end owning client relationships, driving project delivery, and building a high-performing engineering team across complex infrastructure work. It offers the chance to work within a major EPC environment where you're involved in the full project lifecycle, gaining exposure to large-scale builds and real accountability from design through construction.
This individual will support the engineering and execution of overhead transmission projects ranging from system upgrades and rebuild programs to large-scale transmission expansion initiatives. The role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle, from planning and detailed engineering through construction support and project delivery.
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the execution of transmission (69-500+ kV), substation (12-500 kV), and distribution (4-35 kV) projects across both brownfield upgrades and greenfield developments. Working alongside senior PMs, engineers, construction managers, and utility stakeholders, you will help drive project coordination, reporting, documentation, and schedule/cost support throughout the project life cycle.
