Reporting to the CEO, this individual will lead Business Development & Client Services for the preclinical division at this exciting CRO startup. Critical role within the BD team with the primary function of driving growth and ensuring the success of both new business opportunities and current client relationships.

  • Business Development role to lead sales across the Boston & New England region.

This client is a full-service CRO based out of the Greater Philadelphia Metro Area. The business has a staff of 140 across multiple labs and service offerings and anticipates high growth due to customer demand.

Job Description

  • Develop and execute both short- and long-term business development and marketing strategies aimed at achieving the company's growth and profitability objectives.
  • Lead high-level business development initiatives, including prospecting, meeting with potential clients, delivering presentations on company capabilities, negotiating contracts, and managing the end-to-end process of onboarding new clients.
  • Formulate and implement sales strategies to target organizations for preclinical services.
  • Collaborate closely with the scientific research team to ensure that potential and existing clients receive a seamless and responsive experience throughout the sales cycle.
  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through cold-calling, networking, and outreach to prospective clients; maintain strong relationships with existing and past clients.

The Successful Applicant

  • Massachusetts-based candidate (Closer to Boston area preferred)
  • Strong technical background in life sciences (PhD preferred)
  • Demonstrated business development experience (2-5 years) in a CRO setting.
  • Prior experience working with a preclinical CRO (2-5 years)
  • Solid expertise in preclinical services, particularly non-human primate models
