They manage a diverse portfolio of government‑funded programmes and operate within a collaborative, mission‑driven finance team that works closely with programme leadership to ensure strong financial stewardship and compliance.

Job Description

  • Prepare and submit vouchers to city, state, and federal agencies
  • Manage grant budgets, allocations, modifications, and closeouts
  • Support independent audits, Single Audit preparation, and CFR reporting
  • Oversee salary allocations, variance analysis, and programme‑level financial reviews
  • Maintain organized monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages
  • Manage CACFP claims and related budget submissions
  • Partner with programme directors to provide financial guidance and support
  • Ensure compliance with government funding requirements and internal controls
  • Provide cross‑coverage and support within the finance team as needed

The Successful Applicant

  • 3+ years of full‑cycle grants accounting experience within a nonprofit
  • Hands‑on ownership of vouchers, budgets, modifications, and closeouts
  • Experience with NYC and NYS funders such as DYCD, ACS, OCFS, OASAS, UPK, and CACFP
  • Familiarity with PASSPort, FMS, CCMS, or similar government systems
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables
  • Experience supporting audits, Single Audits, and compliance reporting
  • Comfortable working in a programme‑facing, fast‑paced environment
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, and a clear communicator with strong follow‑through
