This Grants & Contracts Manager role is responsible for overseeing grant and contract compliance, budget management, vouchering, reporting, and funder relations while ensuring all financial and reporting requirements are met. The position also provides financial oversight, supports audits and budgeting, and supervises a Grants & Contracts Specialist in a nonprofit environment.

Job Description

  • Manage grants and contracts to ensure compliance with funder requirements and organizational policies.
  • Oversee voucher preparation and submission, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper supporting documentation.
  • Monitor grant budgets, track spending, and prepare budget modifications as needed.
  • Partner with Program, Operations, Development, and Finance teams to support funded programs and reporting requirements.
  • Manage grant related accounts receivable activities and support related financial operations.
  • Maintain a grants and contracts calendar to track reporting deadlines and key deliverables.
  • Respond to funder inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular budget review meetings with program leadership to monitor financial performance.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and assist with annual financial and A133 audits.
  • Supervise a Grants & Contracts Specialist, reviewing vouchers, journal entries, budget modifications, and related financial documentation.
  • Assist with grant revenue recognition and other grant related accounting activities as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience managing grants and contracts, including compliance, budgeting, reporting, and voucher submissions.
  • Strong accounting and financial management skills.
  • Experience collaborating with Program and Development teams.
  • Familiarity with government grant portals such as HHS, SFS, Passport, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit finance and grant cost allocations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; FUND EZ experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, mission driven nonprofit environment.
