Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of high-voltage (138kV-500kV) transmission and substation capital projects, including upgrades, modernizations, and new installations
  • Manage large project portfolios consisting of multiple concurrent projects
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and overall delivery performance
  • Coordinate internal teams, external stakeholders, and contractor partners to ensure successful execution
  • Drive contractor performance, safety compliance, and accountability across multiple field sites
  • Identify opportunities to optimize scope, reduce costs, and accelerate schedules
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships through proactive communication and collaboration
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for project managers, coordinators, and support staff
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies



Key Projects & Scope

  • EHV infrastructure upgrades including transformer replacements, terminal expansions, and SVC modernization
  • Transmission line relocations and system reliability enhancements
  • Substation upgrades and RTU/switch modernization initiatives
  • Large-scale vegetation management and system maintenance programs

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience managing utility transmission and substation capital projects
  • Proven experience leading large project portfolios ($100M+ annually)
  • Strong background in high-voltage systems (138kV-500kV)
  • Demonstrated success managing contractors and cross-functional teams in a field environment
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking for complex programs
  • Strong knowledge of utility operations, safety regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Track record of improving operational performance through process improvements and KPI-driven management
  • Experience developing high-performing teams and mentoring junior staff
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels across a large program portfolio
