Job Description

The responsibilities of the Lead Field Service Engineer are:

  • Lead installation, commissioning, calibration, and maintenance of connected monitoring systems, including sensors, data loggers, and cloud-based platforms
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, ensuring timely resolution of complex hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Mentor and guide junior field service engineers and technicians, providing technical leadership and best practice guidance
  • Support integration of monitoring systems into customer networks and ensure data integrity and system reliability
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, product, and software teams to drive continuous product and service improvements
  • Assist customers with system validation, compliance requirements, and audit readiness (e.g., regulated and GxP environments)
  • Document service activities, system configurations, and maintenance records in accordance with quality standards
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades, enhancements, and additional services to improve customer outcomes
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, quality standards, and service level agreements (SLAs)

The Successful Applicant

The successful Lead Field Service Engineer will have:

  • Bachelor's degree or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in field service engineering, preferably supporting digital, IoT, or monitoring systems
  • Strong understanding of sensors, data acquisition systems, and environmental monitoring technologies
  • Experience with networking fundamentals, system integration, and cloud-based platforms
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a customer-facing environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated leadership experience or the ability to mentor and guide others
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50-75%) to customer sites (all local to Greater NYC Metro)
