The company is an independent industry leader built through the integration of strong regional distributors.Job DescriptionAssist with daily corporate accounting operations, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring financial accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.Prepare and post journal entries, perform detailed account reconciliations, and maintain supporting schedules to ensure integrity of financial reporting.Manage key accounting areas such as intercompany balances, fixed assets, rebates, capital expenditures, and related reconciliations and analyses.Support preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including working capital, capital expenditures, balance sheet activity, and variance analysis compared to prior periods.Provide documentation and support for external audits, ensuring timely response to audit requests and compliance with testing requirements.Assist with accounting integration for acquisitions, including post-merger accounting activities and related reporting adjustments.Partner with the Assistant Controller and accounting team to review financial results, explain fluctuations, and resolve discrepancies.Learn and utilize financial systems such as Sage (fixed assets), Concur (expense management), and OneStream (consolidation and reporting).Contribute to ongoing process improvements and collaborate across multiple business units to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Help maintain strong internal control environments to protect company assets and support audit readiness.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
