The Traveling MEP Assistant Project Manager supports the planning and execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes on commercial construction projects. This role works closely with project managers and field teams to coordinate subcontractors, track progress, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Job Description

  • Support management of MEP scopes from preconstruction through closeout
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and progress updates
  • Assist with procurement, submittals, and RFI processes
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders
  • Monitor quality of MEP installations and resolve field issues
  • Support documentation, reporting, and project closeout activities
  • Travel to project sites as needed based on assignment

The Successful Applicant

A successful Traveling MEP APM should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in commercial construction, with 3 to 5 or more years preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with a high level of responsibility and integrity
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a field construction environment, including rough terrain
  • Willingness to travel long distances based on project location
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Flexibility to work more than 40 hours per week, including weekends when required
