Assistant Project Managers assist the project managers in the overall responsibility of the project including cost estimating, procurement, scheduling and satisfaction of clients. Evaluates, coordinates, and distributes information necessary to complete projects on time, within budget and with quality workmanship. Assistant Project Managers also assist the superintendent team with job site safety and complete weekly safety audits and observations.
The assistant superintendent helps the project superintendent to coordinate all site construction activities and supervise all field personnel, as required, to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. Responsibilities include: leading, communicating effectively, planning and scheduling, safety enforcement, quality control and working to control costs.
Provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members to promote the interest of both the business and clients in all matters, as well as demonstrate the characteristics of a mid-level leader. Communicate project priorities to site staff and all subcontractors, serving as the primary leader on site for the construction project.
This position is primarily responsible for all aspects of an assigned construction project to ensure successful completion and satisfaction of contractual requirements. Assigned to highly complex new construction projects, including projects with multiple buildings and phases or multiple projects.
Oversee the day-to-day field operations of the project or area assigned, from planning to completion. This includes, but is not limited to, daily scheduling, supervision of all site or area activities, tasks and personnel, and ensuring the safety and overall compliance of the project or area.
This position reports to a Project Manager or Client Executive and plays a critical role in staff development, RFI/Submittal, project financials, and coordination efforts.
