Project Engineer II is a position within the Transmission Department to perform electric utility-related engineering tasks and provide technical expertise to solve design problems under limited supervision. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the execution of transmission (69-500+ kV), substation (12-500 kV), and distribution (4-35 kV) projects across both brownfield upgrades and greenfield developments. Working alongside senior PMs, engineers, construction managers, and utility stakeholders, you will help drive project coordination, reporting, documentation, and schedule/cost support throughout the project life cycle.
This role gives you the opportunity to apply your transmission line engineering expertise-spanning conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and core electrical principles-while designing lines in the 69 kV to 765 kV range. You'll be a key contributor to delivering safe, reliable, and high‑performing T&D infrastructure on major grid‑modernization projects.
Manage the execution of multiple transmission, substation, and distribution projects - spanning both brownfield (existing site upgrades) and greenfield (new site development) environments across power levels ranging from 69 kV up to 500+ kV. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless life‑cycle management of capital project execution.
Lead small team of engineers and CAD designers (appx 5 team members) in General/Physical Layout as well as Protection & Control packages of substation design projects. Candidate will be the sealing engineer for the majority of work produced by the team and will also act to manage customer relations and well as business development with select clients.
